The Basics
Did your partner’s annotated bib and process log meet requirements? Go through this check list to let them know.
Please check all that apply.*
- The annotated bibliography contains 5 sources.
- Each source is a SCHOLARLY source (i.e. not a newspaper article, blog post, website, etc.)
- Each annotation contains a correctly formatted citation (MLA, APA, or Chicago formatting is OK.)
- Each annotation is between 150-250 words, not including the citation itself.
- Each annotation contains a paraphrase of the research questions that is not too close to the original text.
- Each annotation discusses the method that the original authors of the source used to conduct their research
- Each annotations discusses information about the findings of the research
- Each annotation contains a specific connection to your partner’s research question
- There is a process log.
- The process log is at least 500 words long.
- The process log answers the appropriate questions.

Sources
Use this part of the form to reflect on the sources that your partner selected.
Look at each abstract for each source that your partner found. Compare the abstract to your partner's summaries in their annotations. Are there any annotations that are too closely copying the original text?*
Copy and paste any direct quotes that you partner integrated into their entries into this box. Are all of these quotes integrated correctly?*
Discuss why each of the sources included on this list are scholarly. You don't have to discuss each source individually if there are multiple sources that fall into the same category (i.e. multiple journal articles.)*
Who is the audience that you think your partner might be talking to? Who might be interested in this research?*
Describe the connections that your partner is making between each of their sources and their research question.*

- All of the necessary components for the type of citation (journal article, book, etc.)
- A hanging indent
- Double spacing
- No bold or underlined portions of the citations
